A GREAT MADISON ACTION DAY!

Our State, Our Budget, Our Voice!
Over 800 WISDOM members filled the Bethel Lutheran Church and the Capitol building on March 30 to learn about and address issues including Criminal Justice Reform, Education, Transit, Immigration, the Back Forty Mine, and Healthcare as a Human Right.  We were inspired; we learned a lot; we strengthened our diverse community of faithful people seeking justice; we shared our message with our elected officials.  From Dr. Alex Gee’s powerful keynote address to Revs. Boyle, Brisco and Mattern’s inspirational send-off, the day was packed with quality workshops, legislative visits, and amazing, powerful testimonies from our leaders.
Together we made it clear that there is a strong community of hope and compassion in our state – and we intend to be heard!

As part of the day, we delivered petitions to Governor Walker calling for a closure of the Milwaukee Secure Detention Center.  View a video of this action here.  Learn more about the issue here.
